Monkeys are a great topic for me to carve. Not only because of the curiosity of their form, but above all because of the variety of emotions they express and can be transferred to a sculpture. It becomes less important then whether the detail is well made, and the superior value is capturing the moment that expresses something. It is best to carve such designs... from the heart. So do I - I collect references on a given topic, search, try to feel the atmosphere, the situation, etc. Then I put away all the collected documentation and sculpt from my hand, from myself, from my heart. In my opinion, only then the most interesting works are created. It doesn't matter the material you use or the technique - sensitivity is above all.

Whenever I start to carve monkey head, gorillla head or monster head firstly comes consideration: am I going to make a sculpture that is more sketchy or am I doing to do one with a large detail? Secondly I choose the right material for work. If I want to get a sculpture with an expressive sketchy character then I take NSP Chavant or plasticine. But when I want to do a very precise work, I use Super Sculpy or Monster Clay. Of course, during creative work, not everything can be predicted and you have to be open to what happens during creation.
