Very often in my creative work I take up the subject of a monster portrait. This is an exercise on how the whole character can look like at the end. I try to propose not only an interestingly carved figure, but most of all one that has an interesting design. Before I sculpt, I consider if the monster should appear threatening, disgusting or be funny, and whether it should be more of a fantasy or sci-fi world... Of course, you can never predict what the final effect of the work will be like - I love to make assumptions, and while working, follow my intuition and analysis of what I see and feel.

The basis for building the sculpture is the arrangement of the main body and this is what I focus on the most. Every time I start sculpting a head orc firstly, I am thinking about an idea and emotions I want to express in the sculpture.  For me the detail is less important and plays a main role at a later stage.

In my daily work I use basic materials like Monster Clay, Super Sculpy, NSP Chavant or ordinary plasticine. Most of the tools I work with are self-made.

While carving little heads, I often make them on small wooden stands with drawn lines that allow me to control the proportions. Regardless of whether it will be a head orc or alien symmetrical or asymmetrical guide lines on a wooden block have a very important function. After finishing work on the head orc the sculpture is burned and then the silicone mold is made. Only from this type of form resin castings are made.
